Club Avenue

It is within this Avenue that we grow support of Rotary through member recruitment /retention efforts and promotion of club activities. Creative Sunrise Rotarians coordinate the club’s family picnics and end-of-the-year banquet as well as plan two major fundraising events each year – our fall Rose Sale and spring Lend-a-Hand Service Auction, both of which generate thousands of dollars for local and international projects.

First slideshow is from the 2009 Service Auction and the second slideshow is a wine and cheese party that was one of the packages offered.

Rose Sale

Each fall, the Sunrise Rotary Club joins Rotary Clubs all over the United States in selling a dozen roses. This is one of our two major fund raising efforts each year. The proceeds are used to fund local, national and international projects supporting Sunrise Rotary and Rotary International goals and programs.

Lend-a-Hand Service Auction

The spring fund-raising project for Sunrise Rotary is the Lend-a-Hand Auction. This annual dinner, auction and live entertainment function is one of the highlights of the year. Sunrise Rotarians put together packages of services such as an authentic Indian dinner, a hunting trip to Wyoming, hours of lawn/garden care and so on. Professional auctioneers auction off the services during the evening.

In addition, there is a silent auction featuring art, crafts, memorabilia and so on. Club members and supporters donate these items.

The evening concludes with live entertainment from professional performers. The 2009 auction featured the musical improve group, “Baby Wants Candy” from Chicago.
